Description

Finally got around to makin something for the
:spotlight-left: Emoticon Plushie Project!! :spotlight-right:
They're so cute, I just had to make my TopHat guy as one.

I added a perspective factor, to make him seem as though he's looking off to one side, and also a ton of shading BY HAND. :faint: On top of that, I used =Droneguard's under-the-eyes lighting technique to give an extra feeling of 3-Dness on the eyes and mustache. Thanks!

Joel, MAKE A DR. SPECZ & LLAMA!! :shakefist: ...oh and critique this if you get the chance. ^^

========
Since I'm new to pixel art rather than emoticons, I'd love get critiqued by anyone who can help me get better!

-Thanks!

I really like this one He looks very gentlemanly and very cute!

I like the shading, and the transition from light to dark looks very smooth. Upon close inspection I see that you've used a lot of shades of green to shade him and I would encourage you in the future to try shading with less colors (it will of course be more of a challenge to get the same effect but it's a great way to improve as a pixel artist, and I personally find it more impressive).

I love his expression and the mustache was a nice touch. The light pixels under the eyes and next to the stitches also give the whole thing a lot more depth, and they match very well with the position you've chosen for the light source. The only thing I find a bit weird is that the light hitting the top of his head isn't blocked by the tophat. Maybe adding a slightly round shadow under the hat and letting some light hit the lower parts of the hat would help. ^^

Other than that it's a very nice piece of pixel art, and I hope to see more pixel art from you. Good job!
